Celebrate your special day at our small wedding venue and treat yourself to a night in a luxury bridal suite.

If you are looking for beautiful, small wedding venues, Kauri Point is the ideal choice. Our Taupo wedding venue has several options as a location for your ceremony.

The large expanse of lawn allows for larger ceremony numbers of 100+ guests. Or you can use the deck in front of our luxury lodge which has a covered area. We recommend this for a smaller number of ceremony guests. You may choose to hold the reception in a marquee on the grounds of our Taupo wedding venue, or perhaps have a cocktail reception in the garden while photos are being taken – the choice is yours.

If you would like to stay the night, our beautifully appointed luxurious guest rooms make for the perfect bridal suite. They could also provide a lavish backdrop for wedding photography – or you can use the lawn areas and mature gardens for beautiful nature shots.

We would welcome the opportunity to host your wedding or civil union ceremony and are happy to suggest suitable suppliers within the region.

  • Wedding Venue Hire – use of grounds, property and decks (excludes accommodation areas)
  • Your choice of start time, we run a one-wedding-a-day policy

Exclusive Wedding Venue Hire Inclusions

  • Wedding Venue Hire – use of all areas
  • 3 bedrooms with breakfast for a total of 6 guests for the night of the wedding
  • Evening reception until midnight
  • All set-ups including the ceremony area
  • Draped table for your cake with cake knife and cutting up of the cake if required
  • Ceremony rehearsal if required
  • Ample secure on-site car parking
  • Use of property hosts to liaise with caterers, marquee hire etc.*

*Please be advised that exclusive wedding venue hire does not include the cost of hiring a marquee, equipment, chairs & tables, catering or staff. It is the responsibility of the couple to organise all catering and hireage etc.

Bookings

Pencil bookings
Pencil bookings will be held for two weeks only. If another enquiry is received within that time, we will contact you. Confirmation, by paying of the booking fee, will be required at this point.

Confirmation of booking
Your booking is only confirmed upon receipt of the signed contract & quoted booking fee. A letter of confirmation will be sent to you.

  • For Exclusive Hire Wedding Night 3 Double Rooms Are Included. For Exclusive And Ceremony Only Please state if any other rooms are available on any other dates or for the Wedding Night for Ceremony Only Bookings. If Rooms Are Not Pre-Booked We Cannot Guarantee Availability.
    1. For Exclusive venue hire $1500.00 non-refundable deposit is required alongside the signed contract to confirm your wedding date.
    2. For venue only weddings a $500.00 non-returnable deposit is required alongside the signed contract to confirm your wedding date.
    3. Prices include 15% GST.
    4. Ceremony rehearsals can be arranged with prior arrangement.
    5. All suppliers must arrange delivery time with the venue prior to arrival.
    6. All equipment including glassware, crockery, tables and chairs must be hired by the bride and groom. This includes waiting staff required.
    7. Access to the venue will be from 11am on the wedding day (unless by prior arrangement or if the guest rooms have been reserved by the bride and groom for the night prior). Ceremony only hires must have vacated the property by 5pm. Evening wedding functions will end at 11.30pm and all guests must have vacated by 12 midnight.
    8. Access to the kitchen for caterers is only by prior arrangement. Additional fee may apply.
    9. All drinks must be pre-chilled or a chiller must be hired. Additional charges apply for power for overnight use.
    10. It is the responsibility of the bride and groom to arrange for all rubbish removal.
    11. For exclusive hire functions it is the responsibility of the bride and groom to hire in all marquees, equipment (including generators & porta loos), catering, drinks, entertainment, seating etc. It is also their responsibility to manage the setup of the venue to their requirements. We are happy to liaise by prior agreement.
    12. Kauri Point does not supply power for catering or entertainment suppliers unless previously arranged (charges will apply). It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that there is suitable and adequate generators and extension leads.
    13. There is one toilet available for use in the grounds (a short walk from the marquee site). A portable loo is advised.
    14. Parking is available on site. We encourage you to arrange transport for your guests using local taxis or buses. Any cars left on site overnight must be removed by 12md the following day.
    15. Access to the inside of the house will only be for the use of the bridal party, resident guests or caterers by arrangement only.
    16. CANCELLATION POLICY Deposits are non-refundable as in point 1.
      If your wedding function is cancelled 12 months or more prior to the booked date there will be a 50% charge of the total booking fee.
      If your wedding function is cancelled 12 months or less prior to the booked date there will be a 100% charge of the total booking fee.
      For individual bedroom bookings, any room cancelled within 90 days prior to arrival will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
    17. Kauri Point will not be held responsible for any injuries around the venue caused by careless behaviour. Children are the responsibility of their parents/guardians and must be supervised at all times.
    18. Kauri Point will not be held responsible for any loss or damage caused to vehicles and private property whilst at the venue.
    19. Full payment is required 1 month prior to the wedding date. International money transfers will be charged a clearance fee of $30.00 NZD per transaction.
